Tennis Hub

 img

It has been quite some time since we have had some updates for our tennis program. We have loved getting to see a whole host of you back on the courts again. From our thriving junior program, to our adult members filling our 8 courts each morning, we are pleased to provide tennis as a healthy way of life. Thank you for treating our procedures, other members, and club as a whole with respect for the times we are in right now.

A quick update of our junior programs: We are at an all time high of attendance across all of our programs. From four year olds, to seniors in high school and everything in-between it has been a record breaking summer. As most of you know, one of our main goals as a tennis staff was to bring junior tennis in the North County to new heights and we can happily say we are doing just that.

Next, we would like to appreciate all of the women that play on one of our CCWTL teams. Our county is not in a position to allow us to host our Annual Teams Appreciation Day this year, but it MUST be said that our Captains are absolutely the glue that holds our teams together! They are all volunteers and members and the hours they spend attempting to please absolutely everyone on their teams is beyond what we could hope for. It is a large, tedious, and mostly unappreciated role. Terri, Darcia, Kim, Kathy, Kris, Angela, Jill, Kerry, Lila, Jan, Rebekah, and Lisa you have our sincere thanks for a job so well done! Unfortunately due to Covid-19 the end of their season was canceled, but our teams were either in first place, or right near the top of the league standings. We will be returning for this next season with six full teams again which is a true testament to how amazing our women's tennis culture is at PRSC.

As with all things in our country right now, adapting to constant change is not easy. As Fall comes around we are expecting to keep rolling with the changes. Junior programs will be listed rather last minute as we continue to see how online schooling will form. Please know we will continue all levels of play. Amy and I continue to meet and plan and then adapt our plans. We have several plans for juniors, women, and men ready to go, and back up plans if we must. If you can continue to be patient with us as we watch health trends and make changes, that would be appreciated. It is certainly an unusual time here at our club, but it is so good to see everyone working out in new areas at the club. From the music of the cycling class to the pool and tennis courts, it all feels like a good new normal.

Sincerely,
Devin Barber and Tennis Staff

New Tennis Ball Machine

imgWe are excited to announce we have purchased a new tennis ball machine for the use by our members. Unlike the use of our last ball machine, we will be implementing several procedures to ensure the upkeep and maintenance. The new Wilson Ball Machine is battery powered and operated and will be kept inside in the tennis offices. Devin has done several tests with the new ball machine on court at PRSC and is confident that it will provide the general purpose. The goal is that each member follows a few simple steps before and after use so the tennis staff is able to keep the machine operating successfully for a long, long time.

Check In/Check Out Requirements:

If interested in using our ball machine, we will require each member to check in at the front desk at the poolside clubhouse. We will have a check in sheet at the front desk.

  • Ball Machine reservations can be made for 1 hour at a time. If used for longer than 1 hour, a separate charge will be issued.
  • Platinum Members: No Charge (Please inquire about upgrading your membership with Sara at [email protected]).
  • All Other Use: $10 per hour

Maintenance Requirements:
Along with our Check In/Check Out procedures, we will be asking our members to help us prolong the life of this ball machine by taking a few steps to help us maintain it. We will be requiring that you read instructions for use before your first time using the ball machine.

  • Read operating instructions before your first use.
  • Must keep the ball machine and silver ball hopper together.
  • Please remove all the tennis balls from the ball machine after use.
  • Please do not use for over an hour at a time
  • Return the ball machine to the front desk immediately after use.
  • Silver tennis ball hopper, and ball machine must stay together
  • All the tennis balls must be out of the ball machine before use, and put away into the ball hopper after use

Group Exercise

 img

I would like to take the time to thank our fabulous instructors and members for being flexible and accommodating with all the changes to our locations for our group exercise classes. We continue to work hard to make adjustments to improve our group exercise class experience to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our staff and members.

Please make sure to continue to reserve your spot for our classes on our APP or with the front desk. This allows us to notify you of any changes to the schedule or location of class.

Please check the app daily for additional classes we are adding. We will be adding afternoon classes for Fit Kids and Movement classes for children.

Thank you for continuing to safely exercise with us! Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions you may have.

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding the additional CAC zoom classes that arrived in your email yesterday.
