December Newsletter 2022

A message from General Manager Travis Hawley

I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It's been an honor to lead our club and I hope everyone has an amazing holiday season. I look forward to what 2023 has in store for us and hope that you find many improvements to your membership. We have been busy these last few months tidying up the landscaping, hiring some new housekeeping personnel and building our plan for next year. I hope you start to find many positive improvements to your membership. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out or stop by my office at the clubhouse.

Notes & Reminders…

  • Please make sure to stop and check in at the front desk. Scan cards are available for FREE so if you would like one please ask our staff to make one for you.
  • Guests under 18 need a liability waiver signed by their legal guardian. Copies can be provided at the front desk or on our website.
  • Reminder children under the age of 14 need to be supervised at all times.
  • Members must be here with their guests. To make sure no one is improperly using your passes please make sure you arrive at the club with your guest.
  • Please drive slowly in the club and factory parking lots. We have many children around the club and want to ensure we have no accidents.
  • Please be careful when opening your car doors in the parking lots. We have heard concern about peoples doors being dinged.

December Fitness Tips:

The holiday season is here and with that often comes extra stress, and more opportunities to not eat healthy and skip your workout. There are practical things you can do to not gain those unwanted pounds and to stay on track with your fitness goals.

1. Plan Ahead
Just as you make time for festive gatherings - make time to schedule your workouts. Put it on the calendar to ensure that it will fit into your day. Planning ahead can help make it happen.
2. Go Small
Finding time for a full workout may not be possible so don't be afraid to do a shorter, more intense workout or break it up into 2 smaller workouts that work better around your scheduled activities.
3. Take the Stairs
Add extra steps to your daily activities by skipping the elevators, park a little farther and walk a few extra steps during your shopping trips. Get creative with finding ways to incorporate more movement into your day.
4. Go Outside
Take advantage of our beautiful California weather and get outside. Plan an active weekend for a hike, a snow day, bike ride or even just a walk through the neighborhood.
5. Start an Annual Competition
Start a new family or friends tradition where you enter a fun race, or even host your own event such as flag football or frisbee golf game. Get your family and friends to join you for a class at the gym or try out one of our Pickleball Mixers.
6. Get a Workout Buddy
Having a workout partner can help you stay motivated and accountable. You are more likely to get to the gym if someone is there waiting to work out with you.
7. Reward yourself
Place a small $ amount in a jar each time you complete a workout and at the end of the season - buy yourself something fun as a reward for sticking with your goals.
8. Log your Food and Fitness
Track your nutrition and activity throughout the holidays to stay accountable to healthy goals.
9. Hydrate
With the cooler weather and variety of festive beverages around - it's easy to get dehydrated and drink extra calories which add up over time. Keep a water bottle with you and remember to try to get a minimum of ½ your body weight in oz daily. (Example- 140 pound women should try to consume 70 oz of water daily, increasing depending on activity level).

So, with a little planning and creativity, maintaining a fitness plan through the holidays can still leave room for fun and festivities.
If you need assistance keeping on track - don't hesitate to reach out.

Happy Holidays!
