Aquatics News

Introducing our New Aquatics Director, Caitlin Neil!!

 img

Here is a message from Caitlin:

"I am excited to be joining the Paso Robles Sports Club family as the Aquatic Director and Head Coach of North County Aquatics. My history with swimming goes back further than I can remember. I come from a family of swimmers, and I was swimming before I could walk. I grew up on the island of Kauai and moved to the central coast at the age of 15 when I joined the Puma Aquatics team. I began teaching swim lessons and coaching for Puma in 2006 and have continued to coach for them (on and off between school and travels) ever since. I have had the pleasure of coaching Morro Bay High School and Templeton High School swim teams, as well as the K-Man Masters swim team. I always enjoy meeting new people, so please stop by and say hi if you see me on the pool deck!" - Catlin

Start the New year off right with a Massage

Caitlin Neil is a certified massage practitioner specializing in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue/ Myofascial Release, and Sports Massage Therapy. She is passionate about helping people heal their bodies through a holistic approach. Her intention is to provide you with a relaxing experience that assists in your specific needs, from stress management to pain relief. Everybody is unique; therefore, every session is uniquely curated for each individual.

Swedish Massage

  • A full body Swedish massage is a great choice for those seeking a relaxing and rejuvenating massage experience. The techniques used in Swedish massage are helpful in relieving muscle tension, while simultaneously relaxing the body.
  • 30, 60, 75, 90 min

Deep Tissue Massage

  • Deep tissue massage is a technique involving deep, slow strokes while applying pressure, in order to target the inner layer of the connective tissue and muscle. This modality is a great option for those seeking pain relief due to extreme muscle tension or adhesions (knots), chronic pain or for those who enjoy a stronger deeper massage.
  • 60, 75, 90 min

Sports Massage

  • Sports Massage is a great option for those with physically demanding hobbies or lifestyles. For this type of massage, I use techniques from both Swedish and deep tissue massage, while also integrating specific stretches into the session. Sports Massage can help to prevent injuries, increase range of motion and alleviate pain.
  • This massage should not be done within 72 hours of an athletic event, such as a competition, game, race etc.
  • 60,75,90 min
  • If you are interested in a pre/intra/post sports massage (10-15 min each done right before, during and after an event) please contact me directly (805-952-5127) to discuss options and my availability. This massage is done at the event, not in a spa setting and therefore cannot be booked online or at the front desk.

Add ons

  • CBD oil/ balm
CBD helps to reduce pain, alleviate inflammation and aid in muscle recovery.
  • Hot stone
Hot stone therapy can be integrated into either a Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage. The heat from the hot stones can be very calming and relaxing while simultaneously helping to relieve pain.
  • Ayurvedic face massage
A massage treatment done by activating the marma points on the face (ayurvedic acupressure points.) With the use of specific oils and tools, an ayurvedic face massage is an incredibly relaxing experience that can help to bring down cortisol (the stress hormone) levels. This massage technique is a 5-10 min add on that is integrated into any of our massage services.

Tennis News

"The Ugly Sweater Christmas Mixer was a blast once again this year. Amy and I believe that every chance we have to celebrate being together in a group is very special, and we will never take it for granted again. We have even seen various other clubs follow our lead and run with our same fun idea. This is a testament to our club and how rad we are. The standard keeps improving for the best Christmas outfits, and we can't wait to see what next year brings! With prizes on the line, it was difficult to choose a winner. That said, Rebekah Lundy took top prize in her well prepared Santa outfit while Karyn Blaney showed out in her Onsie. Keith and Darcia, always the matching pair, gave Lori Bickel and Kris Hunter a fierce battle. Thank you all so much for being willing to flex on our original plan as the wet backed courts made us pivot. Live-Ball may end up as our new Ugly Sweater tradition.

The Paso Robles Sports Club is excited to announce our PRSC Tennis Academy. Starting in 2022, our current junior tennis program will be transitioning into a tennis academy. The move is to compliment our vision and continued success in pushing tennis forward and to greater heights in the North County. In the past three years, the culture of junior tennis has changed at the club, and to reflect that change, we will be rebranding and renaming our junior tennis program to "PRSC Tennis Academy". We are very excited for this change and hope it provides juniors in the North County a better pathway towards their tennis goals. We will also be partnering with the USTA to bring in a few excellent opportunities in the new year for our driven players. PRSC Tennis Academy will have a team atmosphere and culture that promotes a healthy direction to any dreams or goals desired in the great sport of tennis. One of our greatest pleasures this year was to send off several of our players to collegiate tennis programs and then to welcome them back this past week. It is such an honor to watch these young men and women mature over the years. The principle of passing it forward is alive and well as those that return from college play share with those that have goals to do the very same thing. Please feel free to contact Devin regarding signing your player up in future events.

Lastly, just a quick note on wet courts this season. We have increased our protocols this year to provide you with the best information we can to get you out on the courts. Please keep it mind, predicting the weather and how quickly the courts may or may not dry is nearly impossible. Hopefully we have been able to explain over the years what we can and cannot do on wet days. Please call the front desk if you are unsure of present conditions as our club has a unique microclimate, different than even a half mile to either direction. They are at the desk early and available to send you a picture or information. If the forecast is favorable we will do our best to get to work on the courts ASAP. Even after rolling the entire court, sun and wind must help. Rolling will of course help expedite the process. If you see a court has been rolled, please do not feel like rolling the court over again will help. Once the standing water is spread out, the job is done. At times we may even wait until a bit of sun and wind fronts before we start to roll even the larger puddles. This time of year is frustrating at times, but please understand we are prepared to do our best to get the courts playable." - Devin
