img"Pickleball has arrived at PRSC! Emily Ackerman is the new Director of Pickleball here at Paso Robles Sports Club. She just graduated from Cal Poly with a degree in Kinesiology, played all four years on the Women's Tennis team, has competed in multiple Professional Pickleball tournaments and is beginning to compete consistently on the Professional circuit, and has found herself ranked within the top 10 of women professional players in the West region.

Since June, Emily has been running a Pickleball Clinic every Tuesday from 8-9am! This is a time of learning the basics, drilling, practicing specific situations and shots, and more to help learn what you need to know and improve your own game! It is welcome to any and all levels. With Emily being one of the few active Professional players in the area, she is hoping to expand the Pickleball Program at PRSC and give the people the best coaching they can receive in all of the Central Coast.

The 9-10am free mixer following that clinic will still be happening for people to stick around and play more after to get in more games and apply what they have learned.

If you are interested in joining this clinic, potential private lessons, or just learning more about our Pickleball program, please contact Emily Ackerman at [email protected]."

The 38th Annual Gar Glenney Cup is Coming to the Paso Robles Sports Club

imgJuly 8th-10th

Since 1983, the Gar Glenney Cup has been an annual competition between the top Junior Team Tennis teams from the USTA Southern California and USTA Northern California sections for statewide bragging rights. Garret "Gar" Glenney was an outstanding tennis player throughout the southwest region who was known for his passion in creating opportunities for young players to develop their tennis skills and become better individuals in the process. It is said that around 1972, while discussing the success of Jim Hillman's Junior Team Tennis concept, Glenney and Hillman (who is also the namesake of SoCal's Junior Doubles Sectionals) finished a tournament in Las Vegas and headed north to go fishing. At some point on that trip, the duo decided to develop a junior competition between Northern and Southern California — a competition for statewide bragging rights — that ultimately became the Gar Glenney Cup in his honor.

We want to welcome everyone to come watch the tournament and interact with the competitors. For more information please refer to the tournament website.
